Settled Principles Of Law

Objectives
The objective of this chapter is to apprise the students of the settled legal principles of law. In other words, when a question of law is agitated before higher judiciary, say up to the level of National Commission and/or The Supreme Court of India it can be said that the said question of law is finally settled. Needless to mention even a settled legal principle may be altered with prospective overruling by the apex court or by amendment of the law itself.

Introduction
The law settled by National Commission and Supreme Court in the matter of maintainability of Consumer Dispute, consideration of preliminary objections raised by opponent interim order and other guiding principles to be followed by Consumer Forums in the matter of adjudications of Consumer Dispute are briefly discussed below in a narrative manner to enable lucid presentation, understanding and better appreciation of the fundamental principles involved.
